Location and Description
The building is located on Lochend Rd , Easterhouse , Glasgow having been constructed circa 1950. It was originally constructed with retail premises to the ground floor and flats on the second floor. The building has been subject to alteration with the upper storey demolished and a new roof constructed. The ground floor is constructed with concrete. The upper floor slab was retained during the alteration work and is constructed from Bison pre cast concrete slabs. The external walls are of brick cavity construction rendered externally.
The roof is constructed with timber trusses and concrete roof tiles.
Nature of the work
The work comprised of Emergency works post fire to render the site safe , carefully take down and remove the fire damaged timber roof structure down to upper slab level with the provision of temporary weather protection. The roof was then re-constructed with timber roof trusses , concrete roof tiles , insulation , replacement rainwater goods and repairs to render walls.
